Women’s IPL to be held between November 1st and 10th, claim sources.

BCCI President Sourav Ganguly confirmed the challenger series or Women’s IPL competition.

On Sunday, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president Sourav Ganguly stated that the challenger series or the Women’s IPL is very much on and confirmed that the BCCI is working on it. Ganguly put the speculation to bed about the parent body not having a plan for Harmanpreet Kaur and her team.

Women’s IPL is very much on says BCCI President Sourav Ganguly:

The men’s IPL, season 13, will be held in the UAE between September 19 and November 8 or 10 (final dates yet to finalized), due to the surge in COVID-19 infections in India. As per the BCCI chief, the women’s IPL will be able to fit into the schedule. Ganguly said,” I can confirm to you that the women’s IPL is very much on and we do have a plan in place for the national team also”. A senior official who knows BCCI’s plans regarding the same said that the women’s IPL or challenger series will be held during the last phase of IPL like last year. The official revealed the dates of women’s IPL to be around November 1-10 and added that a camp could take place before that.

Ganguly confirms a women camp:

The former India captain cited the coronavirus situation in the country to explain the delay of the camp, which will contain centrally contracted women players. He said that the board couldn’t expose any of the cricketers, male or female, as it would have been a dangerous risk. Ganguly further said,” The NCA also remained shut because of COVID-19, but we have a plan in place and we will have a camp for women, I can tell you that.”
