Youth stabbed in forehead during an ongoing dispute in Vejalpur

A 19-year-old student from Vejalpur was allegedly stabbed in the forehead by a neighbour following a hectic fight on the evening of May 1.

Father-Son Duo Accused in Violent Assault on Polytechnic Student

A 20-year-old college student, Darsheel Vinodbhai Sagathia, sustained a serious injury after being stabbed in the forehead during a violent confrontation near Shailesh Park Society, close to Jivraj Park, where he lives with his family.

According to the complaint filed at Vejalpur police station, the incident began around 7:30 p.m., when Darsheel, a third-year student at Government Polytechnic NEC College, was called to the society gate by his friend, Vikram Sondharwa. Vikram, accompanied by another youth named Gaurav, reportedly began abusing Darsheel verbally over an unresolved dispute. Despite Darsheel’s refusal to engage, Vikram allegedly assaulted him physically.

Stabbing Incident Follows Initial Altercation

The situation escalated around 9:30 p.m., when Vikram returned with his father, Hareshbhai Sondharwa. According to police, the two resumed their verbal abuse before the confrontation turned violent. During the altercation, Hareshbhai allegedly pulled a knife from behind his trousers and stabbed Darsheel in the forehead, causing severe bleeding.

Darsheel was rescued by his elder brother, Karnav, who brought him home and called for emergency medical help. He was immediately taken to SVP Hospital, where doctors treated him for a deep forehead laceration. He received five stitches in the outpatient department.

Police Launch Investigation

The Vejalpur police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and have initiated an investigation. Authorities are currently reviewing the circumstances of the incident and the role of each accused.

Darsheel is recovering at home, while police efforts are ongoing to determine whether additional legal action or arrests are warranted.
