16-year-old dies after falling from an abandoned building in Navi Mumbai
The girl, a local of Panvel, Navi Mumbai, had left home on Wednesday, saying she was going to a friend’s place.
On Thursday at 2 pm, she last spoke to her mom and told her she would be back home by evening. Her 17th birthday would have been on July 5.
Navi Mumbai: A 16-year-old girl was dead after falling from the seventh floor of an abandoned building, where she was reportedly drinking beer with two friends, in Sector 5 of Belapur on Thursday evening.
The girl’s two mates have been identified as Shivam Nanavare, 20, and Sai Kadam, 23. The cops have ruled out any foul play but said they would take necessary actions if inquiries throw up anything dubious.

According to the cops, it is supposed that the girl, who had passed her SSC exams, was drinking beer with her two male friends in the abandoned construction. Eventually, she lost her balance and slipped into a duct from the seventh to the first floor.
“She had informed her family that she was visiting a friend’s house. I am not sure if the family is aware who the friend is,” said Sushil Jadhav, a faraway family of the victim.
The girl was with her childhood buddy Nanavare, who works at a supermarket around the abandoned building. Subsequently, Nanavare called his friend Kadam, who worked at an automobile showroom in Kamothe and told him to join them for a ‘beer party’ at the abandoned structure. The cops have claimed to have seen empty beer bottles in the building.
“We are awaiting the post-mortem report. We are yet to get the body from the General Hospital in Vashi. Once we get the PM report, we will decide on our further course of action,” continued Jadhav.
