Trans harbour sea-link: Navi Mumbai to Mumbai in only 20 mins

Mumbai Trans Harbour Link: India’s most extended sea bridge soon, 93% work completed Mumbai to Navi Mumbai in 20 minutes: India’s most extended sea link Trans Harbour Link to be open by May 26.

The 16.5 km long area of the Mumbai Trans Harbour Sea Link(MTHL) will be finished by May 25-26. Reportedly, cars will be permitted on the bridge after the whole deck for the sea link is laid.

Once finished, Mumbai Trans Harbour Link will be India’s most extended sea link and will cater to nearly 70,000 vehicles. MTHL seeks to link Mumbai with Navi Mumbai to mitigate traffic congestion and boost economic growth.

According to a report issued in the press, MMRDA will concentrate on waterproofing, asphalting, and building crash walls at the sea link once the deck launch is done. The authority will even begin working on installing CCTV cameras, lampposts and toll.

MTHL will be India’s only sea bridge with an Open Road Tolling (ORT) technique. The new system should let commuters pass the toll booth at speeds up to 100kmph without slowing to pay the money.

MMRDA plans to set up artificial intelligence-based cameras that are anticipated to ease congestion on the route.

The press report claims that AI-based cameras will make the control room aware of vehicle crashes, and the authorities can later tow away the broken-down vehicles via the emergency route.

Constructed at a cost of about ₹18,000 crore, MTHL will significantly lessen the travel time between Mumbai and Navi Mumbai. Going from Sewri in central Mumbai to Chirle in Navi Mumbai in 15-20 minutes will be feasible.

The 22 km long link will bring areas like Goa, Pune, and Nagpur nearer to Mumbai.
