How two Indian travellers explored China in 10 Days under ₹1.5 Lakh.

For many Indian travellers, China often seems expensive. Yet content creators Muskan and Aashish have shown that with careful planning, a multi‑city journey across the country can be completed for ₹1.2-1.5 lakh per person. Their 10‑day itinerary blends iconic landmarks, cultural gems, and unique experiences, offering a practical blueprint for affordable travel.

Beijing and Shanghai: Iconic Beginnings

The duo began their trip in Beijing, exploring the legendary Great Wall of China. From there, they flew to Shanghai and immersed themselves in the city’s futuristic skyline and vibrant café culture. Their highlights included Manner Coffee, the striking 1000 Trees Mall, Yuyuan Garden, Warehouse No. 3 Café, and quirky attractions like Popmart ice cream and the Bund sightseeing tunnel. Shanghai’s mix of modern architecture and traditional charm set the tone for the rest of their adventure.

Hidden Treasures and Natural Wonders

On day three, they travelled by train to Wangxian Valley, a destination they described as a journey back in time. The next day, they spent time in Furong Town, a picturesque village built atop a waterfall. Day five brought them to Zhangjiajie National Park, famous for its towering sandstone pillars that inspired the “Avatar” movie landscapes.

Adventure in the Mountains

Day six was dedicated to Tianmen Mountain, where they climbed the renowned 999 steps leading to the Gateway of Heaven. The next two days were spent in Chongqing, a bustling city known for its dynamic urban vibe and adventurous bike rides. On day nine, they visited Chengdu to see the giant pandas, before returning to India on day ten.

Smart Budgeting

Their cost breakdown reveals how the trip remained affordable. Return flights from Delhi with Air China cost between ₹30,000–40,000, while visas added ₹5,000. Accommodation and meals averaged ₹1,500 per day. Internal transport- including domestic flights, trains, and taxis- came to around ₹30,000. Entry fees and activities such as the Great Wall, Zhangjiajie, and panda viewing added ₹20,000-30,000, plus about ₹5,000 for miscellaneous expenses.

A Practical Travel Blueprint

Altogether, the journey cost between ₹1.2-1.5 lakh per person. By balancing iconic attractions with lesser‑known gems, Muskan and Aashish demonstrated that China can be explored richly without overspending. Their itinerary offers Indian travellers a clear example of how to enjoy diverse landscapes, cultural heritage, and modern city life- all within a reasonable budget.
