On Saturday, on the 125th birthday of the legendary freedom fighter, Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave his tributes to Subhas Chandra Bose as the Center will designate the day as Parakram Divas or even a day of courage.

 “Bowing to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, a brave freedom fighter as well as the true son of Mother India, during his birth anniversary. A blessed nation will always remember his sacrifices and dedication for the independence of the nation PM Modi tweeted in Hindi.

PM Modi to attend the birth anniversary in Kolkata: 

PM Modi will also be celebrating the anniversary of the birth of the legendary freedom fighter in Kolkata as well as will join two programs during his day-long tour, one at the National Library and also the other at Victoria Memorial Hall.

It’s the first time that PM Modi would be observing Bose’s birth anniversary since the Bharatiya Janata Paty (BJP) comes to power at the Centre. A committee has also been formed by the central government to prepare year-long anniversary celebrations.

PM will inaugurate a permanent exhibition called Nirbheek Subhas:

A permanent exhibition named Nirbheek Subhas will be launched, a projection mapping display on Netaji will be launched, the book ‘Letters of Netaji’ will be unveiled, the commemorative coin, as well as memorial postal stamp, will be issued and the Indian National Army veterans will be congratulated (INA).

PM Modi in his Tweets:

The Prime Minister spoke about Bose in a series of tweets on Friday. “May Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s thoughts, as well as ideals, continue to inspire us to work and create an India that he would be proud of… a powerful, confident, and self-reliant India, whose human-centred approach in the years to come will contribute to a better planet,” he tweeted.

PM Modi also spoke about the “special program” at Haripura in his home state of Gujarat under one of the messages.”Haripura seems to have a strong relationship with Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. 

That was at the historical Haripura Session of 1938 that Netaji Bose began taking the Presidentship of the Congress Party. Tomorrow’s program at Haripura will also be a tribute to Netaji Bose’s contributions to our nation,” he said.

Desh Nayak Diwas has been declared by the West Bengal government:

The government of West Bengal has declared that the day will be observed as Desh Nayak Diwas or National Hero’s Day. The state government also called on individuals to blow labret shells at 12.15 pm, the moment when Bose was born in 1897, through televised advertisements. In an aeroplane crash in Taiwan in August 1945, he mysteriously died.
