Akshay Kumar: Don’t Miss the Beginning of Kesari 2!

Akshay Kumar Urges Viewers to Not Miss the First 10 Minutes of Kesari 2 and Keep Phones Away During Screening

As Kesari Chapter 2, the much-anticipated courtroom drama starring Akshay Kumar, hits theatres, the lead actor has made a heartfelt appeal to audiences: arrive on time and avoid using phones during the screening. The film, which explores the aftermath of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre of 1919, promises to shed light on a powerful chapter of India’s freedom struggle through the eyes of lawyer C Sankaran Nair, portrayed by Akshay Kumar.

The actor’s request has gone viral on social media following his comments at a special screening of the film held in Mumbai. Addressing the media and fans, Akshay emphasized the importance of the opening scenes of Kesari 2, calling them the most crucial part of the film’s narrative.

“To all the people who will be coming to watch the film, I request that you not miss the beginning of it. The first 10 minutes of this film are the most important thing. I am sure that it will reach everyone through your camera. The people who have decided to watch this film will know that they should not be late. They should come at the right time. And the 10 minutes of this film start from there,” said Akshay Kumar.

The actor’s sincere tone and the gravity of his message struck a chord with fans, prompting widespread discussion online about respecting cinema and its message, especially when the subject holds historical and emotional significance.

At a pre-release event in New Delhi, Akshay Kumar had earlier made a similar appeal, urging the audience to put away their phones while watching the movie. His comments addressed a growing concern among filmmakers and actors about phone usage during films, especially in theatres.

“I humbly request you all to please keep your phones in your pockets and listen to every dialogue of this film. It will mean a lot. If you try to check your Instagram during the movie, it will be a humiliation for the film. So I request everyone to keep their phones away,” he added.

Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi, Kesari 2 stars Ananya Panday and R. Madhavan alongside Akshay Kumar. The film explores the legal battle fought by C Sankaran Nair against the British after the Jallianwala Bagh massacre, positioning it as a significant retelling of resistance and justice in colonial India.

Kesari Chapter 2 released in theatres on April 18 and has already received a warm reception from early viewers on social media, many of whom praised the film’s gripping narrative and powerful performances.

As cinema continues to be a tool for reflecting history and educating audiences, Akshay Kumar’s plea resonates not only as an actor’s concern for his film but as a call for respect toward the stories that shaped the nation. His viral message has reignited conversations about viewer etiquette and the responsibility of audiences in preserving the sanctity of storytelling on the big screen.
