Halloween celebrations took on a magical twist this year as US Vice President JD Vance and his family stepped into the enchanting world of Harry Potter. Their themed costumes quickly became a social media talking point, with many users praising the family’s creativity and festive spirit.

The Vice President shared a family photograph on X, extending Halloween wishes and showcasing the family’s carefully planned wizarding-world outfits. Dressed as the legendary Hogwarts headmaster Albus Dumbledore, Vance appeared in a flowing silver robe, complete with a long grey wig and a pointed wizard’s hat. His transformation into one of the Harry Potter series’ most iconic characters instantly caught fans’ attention.

Joining him at the magical celebration was Second Lady Usha Vance, who portrayed the Sorting Hat, the enchanted hat that assigns Hogwarts students to their houses. Her distinctive costume added a playful touch to the family’s group theme and showcased the effort that went into creating the look.

The couple’s children also embraced the Harry Potter-themed festivities. Their youngest son, Alec, appeared as Dobby, the beloved house-elf known for his loyalty and distinctive appearance. His costume quickly became a fan favourite among viewers of the family’s photographs online. The Vances’ other children also took part in the celebration, choosing outfits inspired by characters and elements from the popular fantasy series.

The magical fun did not end with a single photograph. Shortly afterwards, Vance posted a video of the family’s Halloween gathering. In the clip, he could be seen carrying Alec as he greeted guests at a festively decorated residence. The setting featured classic Halloween decorations that complemented the family’s wizard-themed attire.

Alongside the video, the Vice President said the family was delighted to welcome military families, Secret Service personnel, and staff to the Vice President’s Residence for the holiday celebration. The gathering gave attendees the chance to enjoy the occasion in a warm, family-friendly atmosphere.

As images and videos from the event circulated online, social media users responded enthusiastically. Many praised the family’s commitment to the theme, while others appreciated seeing a lighter, more personal side of public figures during the holiday season.
