According to a report, Samsung may develop next-generation ‘XISOCELL’ image sensors

On the current generation of smartphone camera sensors, also Samsung’s ISOCELL branding reduces interference and noise from two adjacent pixels in a camera.

Samsung has reportedly filed a trademark application in South Korea for the brand name XISO-CELL. Which could be the conglomerate’s next generation of smartphone camera sensors. The company has long produced a series of camera sensors also known as ISOCELL. Which first appeared on the Samsung Galaxy S5 in 2014.

Samsung later added camera sensors from the ISOCELL Plus and ISOCELL 2.0 series to their more recent models.

According to the most recent report, the South Korean conglomerate’s application for trademark registration indicates. That its next generation of image sensors will be market under the brand name XISOCELL. Aside from the brand name, the report does not reveal any additional information about Samsung’s purported net-generation camera image sensors.

Samsung is also said to be working on sensor-shift image stabilization technology similar to that seen on the iPhone 12 Pro Max. The iPhone maker from Cupertino, California claims that the technique can stabilize an image over 5,000 times per second.

However, it is unclear whether Samsung’s upcoming S23 flagship series will include the rumored next-generation XISOCELL image sensors and sensor-shift image stabilization technology.

The upcoming Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra from the Galaxy S23 series is expect to come with a 200-megapixel image sensor.
