Adidas will offer similar versions of the Samba and other kicks for $60 to $80, which is a more inexpensive entry point than the $100 to $150 price tag for the leading sneaker lines.
Affordable Options for Iconic Styles
Adidas is set to introduce more affordable versions of its popular three-striped shoes, including the iconic white and black suede Samba.
The initiative aims to make these trendy shoes accessible to a wider audience, according to CEO Bjorn Gulden.
Speaking at the company’s annual shareholders’ meeting in Germany, Gulden emphasized the importance of inclusivity in fashion trends.
Bridging the Price Gap
“It’s important to understand that not everyone can afford to buy a shoe for $120 or $150, but everyone wants to take part in the same trends,” Gulden told investors during his presentation in Furth, near Adidas’ headquarters in Herzogenaurach.
To address this, Adidas plans to offer similar versions of the Samba and other popular models at a more affordable price range of $60 to $80. This new price point is significantly lower than the $100 to $150 typically charged for the main shoe lines.
Strategic Retail Partnerships
The presentation included a slide that highlighted these new pricing strategies. “What we do at the top, $100 and higher, we’re bringing that down.
So, for Foot Locker, for Intersport, and for Deichmann, we’ve also got something to offer,” Gulden explained. This move is part of Adidas’ strategy to expand its market reach through key retail partners.
Expanding Market Reach
By offering these more affordable options, Adidas aims to cater to a broader customer base who are eager to participate in current fashion trends but are constrained by budget limitations.
This initiative not only supports the company’s growth strategy but also reinforces Adidas’ commitment to making fashionable and high-quality footwear accessible to a larger audience.
The new range of affordable shoes is expected to hit the market soon, providing consumers with stylish and budget-friendly options that still carry the brand’s iconic three stripes.
