Akshay Kumar’s reacts to R Madhavan’s claim that good films take one to two years to complete rather than a few months. He stated that he “can’t work in a film that requires more than 100 days of shooting.”
During the Rocketry: The Nambi Effect promotional tour, R Madhavan discussed the success of films like Pushpa: The Rise and K.G.F: Chapter 2, which took years to make, and the ways actors commit to projects.
When asked about the remark, Akshay Kumar responded, “Kya Kehna chahunga?
Main kya karoon, bhai meri filmein khatam ho jaati hain? Main is thode hi kuch…meri filmein khatam ho jaati hain. (What else can I say? What can I do if my film is finished?).”
“Ek director aata hai kehta hai bhaiya aapka kaam khatam aap ghar jaaiye,” he added. Toh ab main ladoon ussey? (A director approaches me and says, ‘Brother, your work is done; go home.’) Should I go to war with them?)”
“He has said it time and again about completing a film in 40-45 days,” said Aanand L Rai, director of Akshay’s upcoming film Raksha Bandhan. But his calculation is incorrect. Which movies were finished in 40-45 days? He arrives on set at 6 a.m. and stays until we are finished.”
Akshay had previously stated to Pinkvilla, “You can’t give a film more than 45 to 50 days, and if you shoot a film in this period, your budget will always be under control. I can’t work on a movie that takes more than 100 days to shoot.”
