How Kritagya Cracked IIT

Amitabh Bachchan asked contestant Kritagya Nayyar about his journey to cracking one of India’s toughest entrance exams, remarking that IIT is an extremely challenging test and asking how he managed to clear it. Kritagya explained that he came from a family with an engineering background and drew inspiration from his sister, who was already studying at IIT BHU. A visit to her college during his 8th grade left a lasting impression on him. Motivated by what he saw, he began coaching from the 9th grade onward and eventually secured admission into IIT, though he admitted he hadn’t decided on a specific career path beyond engineering at the time.

A Life-Changing Chapter

Beyond academics, Kritagya shared that his time at IIT also shaped his personal life, as it was there that he met the woman who would later become his wife. This revelation led to a light-hearted exchange with Bachchan, who found the “career and wife” combination too amusing to let slide.
