An online love story of an Indian boy and a Pakistani girl ends up in jail

In January, an Indian male was charged with helping a Pakistani female who were supposed in an online love story enter the nation illegally and get a fake ID card.

The person he helped was his online love story partner.

Mulayam Singh Yadav, 21, from India and Iqra Jeewani, 19, from Pakistan, saw and fell in love online three years back while playing the board game Ludo. But they understood it would be difficult for them to be together.

India-Pakistan’s online love story ends up in prison:

India and Pakistan share a frantic relationship – the neighbours have fought three battles since 1947, when India was divided on independence and Pakistan was formed. This can make it difficult for people to get access to travel to meet each other.

So last September, Mulayam and Iqra went to Nepal, where they tied the knot. They then went to the Indian metropolis of Bangalore (Bengaluru) – the capital of Karnataka state – and stayed together.

But their joyful life turned miserable in January – Ms Jeewani was jailed for entering India illegally, while Mr Yadav was charged and arrested with the scam, fraud and protecting a foreign national without proper papers.

She was exiled to Pakistan last week, while Mr Yadav remains imprisoned in Bangalore.

Mr Yadav’s family, who stay in the northern Indian area of Uttar Pradesh, are ruined by the detentions. They say the duo’s story is just one of love.
