Anurag Kashyap on why Sunny Leone was best for Kennedy
Sunny Leone is overjoyed to be acting in Anurag Kashyap’s Kennedy and attending the Cannes Film Festival for the first time for the film’s premiere.
Anurag stated in an interview why he chose Sunny for the role of Charlie in the film before walking the red carpet with Sunny and Rahul Bhat at the film’s premiere in the Midnight Screenings area.

Sunny’s part in Kennedy is not disclosed much, but there is a brief sight of the actor in the teaser. She can be seen laughing after going into an elevator.
The plot centres around an insomniac ex-cop who is presumed dead yet is yearning for redemption.
Anurag Kashyap on casting Sunny:
Speaking about Sunny, Anurag Kashyap told Film Companion on the sidelines of Cannes 2023, “I swear I have never seen her films, ever.” I’ve watched her interviews. Her eyes are filled with despair. In the past, there was a life.
We needed a woman over 40 who the males around her sexualised, men in their 50s and 60s. I don’t need to see a sex act or anything like that.
I need to see this woman who is also coping with it, handling it, and using it all to survive and navigate. In Sunny, I met a lady with all those qualities built in.”
“Second, I am well aware of how much she is paid in the market,” he continued. I stated that this was not the type of film.
