Arrest made for alleged spying in Bharuch district

Bharuch: Pravin Mishra, who was charged, allegedly collected highly confidential details regarding the Indian Armed Forces and defense-related R&D companies.

In a significant development, a man has been apprehended in Bharuch district of Gujarat on suspicion of spying for a Pakistani intelligence agency, as confirmed by the police on Thursday.

Accused and Allegations

Identified as Pravin Mishra, the accused is believed to have acquired highly sensitive information concerning the Indian Armed Forces and defense-related research and development firms. 

The Gujarat Criminal Investigation Department (CID) revealed that Mishra came under scrutiny following intelligence received from the Military Intelligence, Udhampur.

Nature of Offense

Residing in Ankleshwar, Bharuch district, Mishra hails from Muzaffarpur, Bihar. According to the CID, Mishra maintained communication with a Pakistani intelligence operative through Whatsapp calls and audio chats. 

The exchange allegedly involved discussions related to carrying out criminal activities against the nation, posing significant security threats.
