As expected, Team Thackeray won the election in Andheri. The Surprising Fact

Team Thackeray After a BJP-backed coup leading by Eknath Shinde split his Shiv Sena and deposed his government in Maharashtra, Uddhav Thackeray’s faction won its first election today.

Rutuja Latke, the Shiv Sena’s (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) candidate. Won the Mumbai by-election in Andheri (East) by a considerable margin of over 66,000 votes.

It was no longer a contest after the BJP balked at its candidate in response to several parties’ calls for support for Rutuja Latke.

Rutuja Latke’s husband, Shiv Sena MLA Ramesh Latke, died in May, necessitating the election.

Ms. Latke, who worked as a clerk for the BMC (Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation). Could only file her nomination after a court ordered the Mumbai civic body to abide her resignation.

The election in Andheri, a suburb of Mumbai, is also significantly ahead of civic polls in the city.

This is the first election in which the Thackeray-led Shiv Sena is campaigning under the new name Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray). For the time being, the original character and symbol remain with the Election Commission. Which gave Eknath Shinde’s section the name Balasahebanchi Shiv Sena also a sword and shield as a symbol.

Though the BJP stated that it was withdrawing its contender out of respect for the Sena MLA who died. Team Thackeray’s Sanjay Raut claimed that the BJP had anticipated defeat. The BJP conducted a survey that predicted that its candidate (Murji Patel) will lose by at least 45,000 votes.”

Because the Shinde faction isn’t well-represented here, the BJP was mostly on its own against Team Thackeray’s devoted Marathi voters. Even Uddhav Thackeray’s estranged cousin Raj Thackeray had requested that the BJP not run a candidate.
