Acharya Satyendra Das – the chief priest of the Ram Janmabhoomi’s team member and seer in Ayodhya along with 14 cops, get infected with the novel COVID-19 infection.

On Thursday, a priest named Pradeep Das who is in the team of the chief priest of the Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya has tested positive for the novel COVID-19 infection. In addition to this, 14 policemen deployed around the Ram temple premises have also tested positive for the Coronavirus. Chief Priest Acharya Satyendra Das said,” A priest named Pradeep Das, who also undertook ceremonial worship of the deity, has tested positive and put under isolation. No one else in my temple has tested positive. 

The infected seer was present during CM Yogi Adityanath’s visit:

A total of 15 people have been quarantined, who were believed to have come in close contact with Pradeep Das. The priest was also present during the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s visit to Ayodhya on July 25. The priest had gone along with the CM to review the Bhoomi pujan or groundbreaking ceremony preparations of the Ram temple. Chief medical officer of Ayodhya Dr Ghanshyam Singh stated that all the 14 cops who had tested positive, were isolated and all those in and around the temple duty have been tested to ensure no spread of the coronavirus occurs.

Ayodhya’s COVID-19 tally at 993:

Ayodhya has recorded a total of 993 COVID-19 cases to date, with 13 people dying and 605 patients have recovered as per the latest bulletin of the state government. Health officials have said that the maximum number of cases belonged to localities in Faizabad after fresh 66 new infections were reported in Ayodhya district on Wednesday.
