Bhooth Bangla Crosses Rs 117 Crore Globally in Just Five Days

Akshay Kumar’s much-anticipated horror comedy Bhooth Bangla, directed by Priyadarshan, has delivered an impressive box office run in its opening week. Despite receiving mixed reviews from critics, the film has struck a chord with audiences, crossing Rs 117 crore in worldwide gross by the end of its fifth day in theaters.

A Strong Start That Held Its Ground

The film opened to Rs 12.25 crore on Day 1, followed by Rs 19 crore on Day 2 and a solid Rs 23 crore on Day 3. While collections dipped on the first Monday to Rs 6.75 crore — a natural weekday drop — the film bounced back to Rs 7.65 crore on Tuesday. Total India net collections now stand at Rs 72.40 crore, with the India gross touching Rs 86.21 crore across 11,580 shows nationwide.

Overseas Numbers Add to the Momentum

The film has also made a notable mark internationally, earning Rs 2.50 crore on Day 5 alone. Its total overseas gross has climbed to Rs 31.50 crore, pushing the worldwide gross to Rs 117.71 crore. This performance has effectively ended the theatrical run of Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar 2, which had been holding its ground since its March 19 release.

Bhooth Bangla reunites Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan after more than a decade, and also features an ensemble cast including Tabu, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, and Wamiqa Gabbi. The film holds additional emotional weight as it marks the final screen appearance of the late veteran actor Asrani, making it a significant release beyond just its commercial numbers.
