Lockheed Martin has been launching its F-21 aircraft as the perfect aeroplane for the Indian Air Force’s search for 114 combat planes.
Presenting the F-21, Mike Kelley, vice president of India Aeronautics, Strategy and Business Development, said the single-engine F-21 plane would have the most optimal life cycle price, down by 30%.
Lower carbon footprint compared to the nearest twin-engine candidates for the Indian Air Force, except for ensuring the most extended service life of 12,000 aircraft hours.
The F-21 will complete India’s Tejas and Rafale in playing a vital operational role for the Indian Air Force, the firm said. The aircraft wings are made with 74% indigenisation, merging over 70 Indian suppliers.
