CBI raids at Deputy CM Manish Sisodia’s office

CBI raids at Deputy CM Manish Sisodia’s office

Key Takeaways:

  • The investigation into the excise policy case is still ongoing, and Manish Sisodia, the deputy chief minister of Delhi, tweeted on Saturday that CBI agents were in his office.
  • It alleged that the BJP was attempting to overthrow an elected government in the nation’s capital by using federal agencies.

Manish Sisodia, the deputy CM of Delhi, tweeted on Saturday that CBI agents were in his office as the investigation into the excise policy case continues. “The CBI has once again visited my office today.

They are welcome, the AAP leader wrote in a post on Twitter that was translated roughly from Hindi. “They searched my bank locker, conducted raids at my home and office, and even searched my village.

They did not uncover any evidence against me… and won’t be able to because I haven’t broken any laws. I have genuinely tried to help Delhi’s youth in the field of education, he emphasised.

The Delhi Excise Policy Case investigation started last year after Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena suggested a CBI investigation due to inconsistencies.

The BJP and the AAP have been at odds over several issues, and this is just one of them. The Delhi government claimed that it was being targeted.

While Sisodia was listed as an accused party, several arrests have been made.

Arvind Kejriwal, the CM of Delhi, has repeatedly suggested that the investigation was being conducted at the request of the opposition BJP by the investigative agencies.

Additionally, he claimed that despite months of effort and the involvement of hundreds of officers, nothing was discovered. The investigation started months before the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) elections and the crucial elections in Gujarat, and the AAP had connected the investigation to the elections.

Additionally, it claimed that the BJP was attempting to use federal agencies to overthrow an elected government in the nation’s capital.

While the BJP accused the AAP of corruption, Kejriwal claimed that attempts were made to contact the MLAs of his party.

On Saturday, the AAP criticised the BJP: “Once more CBI reached Manish Sisodia’s office. However, they have not revealed their discoveries during the most recent raids after looking around at home.
