In a shocking incident at a school in Nanpura, Surat, a Class 12 student allegedly stabbed his 17-year-old classmate on Friday afternoon. The attack reportedly occurred due to a dispute over the victim speaking to the accused’s girlfriend.

Details of the Surat School Attack:

The victim, also 17 years old, was having his tiffin during a short break when his classmate approached him and initiated a confrontation.

According to the police, the situation escalated quickly, leading the accused to stab the victim multiple times on the neck, head, and left hand. When another student attempted to intervene, the accused also attacked him, causing minor injuries.

Victim’s Condition and Police Action:

The school authorities immediately rushed the injured student to a nearby private hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment in the ICU. His condition is reported to be stable.

The victim’s father has filed a police complaint against the accused, who has been booked under sections 118 (1) (voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons) and 352 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

Police Investigation:

A senior police officer verified that the accused was a minor and that they would follow the necessary legal procedures for juvenile cases.

The officer also noted that the conflict arose from the victim speaking to their female classmate, which reportedly angered the accused and led to the violent confrontation.
