Thousands Join Cockroach Janta Party’s ‘Chalo Sansad’ March

Drone footage from the Cockroach Janta Party’s (CJP) ‘Chalo Sansad’ march has surfaced online, showing a massive turnout at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi as the group began its protest on Monday, July 20. The aerial visuals show a dense crowd of demonstrators, with estimates of the gathering ranging between 1,000 and 3,000 people, though some reports from the eve of the march suggested numbers closer to 20,000 in and around the protest site.

Protesters Wave Flags, Carry Ambedkar Posters

The footage captures demonstrators waving the Indian national flag and holding posters of Dr B.R. Ambedkar as they took part in the march. The visuals were quickly shared across social media platforms, drawing widespread attention to the scale of the mobilisation. The march was organised to demand transparency and comprehensive reforms in the education and examination system, following allegations of question paper leaks. CJP founder Abhijit Dipke had earlier described the initiative as a collective effort involving students and youth from across the country, rather than the campaign of a single organisation.

Heavy Police Deployment Amid Peaceful Protest

A significant Delhi Police presence was visible in the drone footage, with security personnel stationed across the area to maintain law and order. More than 1,500 students reportedly marched from Central Secretariat Metro Station and Rail Bhawan to join the demonstration. Climate activist Sonam Wangchuk extended his support to the protest, which organisers and authorities have both described as remaining peaceful and non-violent throughout. The march coincides with the first day of Parliament’s Monsoon Session, with organisers stating their goal was to convey students’ concerns directly to lawmakers.
