In Gujarat, people celebrated Diwali in 2020 with joy and happiness. Crowds of people flocked to the markets last year, flying Corona’s guideline.

 After the Diwali festival, there was a sudden increase in corona cases in the state. At that time, a two-day curfew was imposed in Ahmedabad on Saturday and Sunday. In addition, a two-day curfew was also announced in Vadodara, Surat and Rajkot, including Ahmedabad.

The celebration of the people invited another wave at that time, and the second wave that started after Diwali proved to be the most deadly.

 So now again, in the year 2021, the festival of Diwali has come. Corona’s cases are still under control, and the government has granted more concessions.

 Also, this time night curfew is in force in eight metros from 12 noon to 6 am till November 10. So now, this Diwali night will be spent on curfew in eight metros.

Night curfew

in eight metros till November 10, The state government has again continued the night curfew. The state government has extended the night curfew in Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Rajkot, Surat, Jamnagar, Junagadh, Gandhinagar and Bhavnagar till November 10 for one more month with two days left till the Navratri festival. Night curfew will be enforced in eight cities from 12 noon to 6 am.

. The Diwali festivities saw huge crowds in the markets, crowds at temples and tourist spots. While the government did not make any plans to curb the corona, the government took no action. 

The government later imposed a sudden curfew to control Corona. In addition, the stables were locked after the government released the horses in a difficult situation.

Night curfew was imposed in 4 cities on November 23 last year.

However, Corona cases are on the rise in Gujarat. Therefore, on November 23, 2020, along with continuous curfew in Ahmedabad, night curfew was also imposed in three other cities, namely Surat, Vadodara and Rajkot.

 As a precautionary measure, a 57-hour curfew was imposed in Ahmedabad, especially during the Saturday-Sunday holidays, to keep the crowds out of control. However, as Gujarat’s businesses were slowly recovering, curfews or lockdowns again caused traders to suffer losses.

Even in Vadodara, people flouted Corona’s rules.

A total of 8,26,160 cases, 10086 patient deaths and 8,15,872 discharges

have been reported positively in the state so far, while the death toll has risen to 10,086. As many as 8 lakh 15 thousand 872 patients have been discharged so far. 

As far as active cases are concerned, there are currently 183 active cases in the state, out of which five patients are on a ventilator, while 178 patients are in stable condition.

 The highest number of 6 cases has been reported in Ahmedabad Corporation. On the other hand, not a single new case was reported in 5 cities and 31 districts. As well, the state’s recovery rate has remained stable at 98.76 per cent.
