New covid cases India, highest after 140days

On Thursday, India recorded a spike of around 1300 new Covid-19 cases in a single day, the highest spike in 140 days. In contrast, the count of active Covid-19 cases has reached 7,605, as per the report by the news agency PTI reported by the Health ministry data.

The overall Covid telly has reached 4.46 crore (4,46,99, 418). The death count has dragged to 5,30,816 with three deaths. The data from the health ministry showed that Karnataka, Gujarat, and Maharashtra each reported one.

The weekly positivity rate was estimated at 1.08%, whereas the daily positivity rate was 1.46%.

The total number of recoveries has increased to 4,41,60,997, with a national recovery rate of 98.79%.

89,078 tests for the detection of Covid have been performed in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of tests for this purpose to 92.06 crores.

The country’s response and readiness to handle an increase in influenza cases and a little increase in Covid-19 cases were reviewed during a high-level meeting on Covid-19 and influenza that Prime Minister Narendra Modi presided over on Wednesday.

He emphasized the significance of maintaining respiratory hygiene and engaging in Covid-appropriate conduct. He also highlighted the importance of testing all cases of Severe Acute Respiratory Illness (SARI), genome testing, and lab surveillance.

220.65 crore doses of the Covid vaccination have been given to residents, as per the ministry’s website.
