According to Union Health Ministry data updated on Friday, India recorded 2,259 new Covid-19 cases. Bringing coronavirus infections to 4,31,31,822, while active virus cases decreased to 15,044. Today’s virus count is slightly lower than yesterday’s. In the last 24 hours, there has been a decrease of over 350 cases in the active caseload. However, the death toll rose to 5,24,323 with 20 new fatalities, according to data updated at 8 a.m.

17 of the 20 new fatalities were from Kerala, two from Uttar Pradesh, and one from Delhi.

According to the ministry, active cases account for 0.03 percent of total infections. While the national COVID-19 recovery rate is 98.75 percent.

According to the ministry, the daily positivity rate was 0.50 percent, and the weekly positivity rate was 0.53 percent.

The number of people who have regained from the disease has risen to 4,25,92,455, with a case fatality rate of 1.22 percent.

The total number of doses administered in the country as part of the nationwide COVID-19 vaccination drive has surpassed 191.96 crores. On August 7, 2020, India’s COVID-19 tally surpassed 20 lakh. 30 lakh on August 23, 40 lakh on September 5, also 50 lakh on September 16. It reached 60 lakh on September 28, 70 lakh on October 11. 80 lakh on October 29, 90 lakh on November 20, and one crore on December 19.

Last year, the country passed the 2-crore mark on May 4 and the three-crore spot on June 23.

So far, 5,24,323 deaths have been reported in the country. Including 1,47,856 in Maharashtra, 69,457 in Kerala, 40,106 in Karnataka, 38,025 in Tamil Nadu, 26,199 in Delhi, 23,516 in Uttar Pradesh, and 21,203 in West Bengal.
