India’s death-toll crosses 15,000 and Coronavirus tally of the nation at 490,401.

India on Friday, registered its biggest single-day spike in the number of cases with 17,256 fresh Covid-19 cases and 407 deaths in the last 24 hours. This takes the country’s Coronavirus tally over 4.9 lakh-mark to reach at 490,401 cases, and the death toll at 15,301 as per the data of the Union Health Ministry. 

Highest rise of recoveries:

Although the coronavirus cases have been soaring high in the last few weeks, it has not dampened the success of recoveries in the country. Steadily the graph of recoveries in the nation has been on the rise and on Thursday, India registered its biggest single-day tally of recoveries, and the grand total of recovered patients rose to 285,636. This is 96,173 patients more than the currently active positive cases in the country. The tally of active cases stands at 189,463. This means that the recovery rate of India has improved to 58.24 percent.

Arvind Kejriwal says situation under control:

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday admitted that Delhi’s Covid-19 cases are high, but the situation is under control. The national capital has now crossed over 74,000 cases, one-third of which have been reported in just a couple of weeks. AAP chief, Kejriwal revealed that the increase of testing has yielded so many positive cases recently, he said, ”We have increased Covid-19 testing in Delhi, hence the cases are rising. Delhi government has set-up 3500 beds for Covid-19 patients in hotels in the last 10 days.” The city, with the highest number of cases, is also being closely monitored by the centre.

Globally, over 9.61 million cases have been reported with more than 489,000 causalities.
