The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) will examine Go First facilities in Mumbai and Delhi from July 4-6, focusing on safety-related issues, more than two months after the airline voluntarily filed for insolvency and ceased ticket sales on May 2.

“After a preliminary review of the resumption plan submitted by the Resolution Professional (RP) for Go First on June 28, 2023, the DGCA has planned to conduct a special audit of the Go First facilities in Mumbai and Delhi,” the DGCA said in a statement on Friday.

Shailendra Ajmera, the airline’s resolution professional and chief executive officer Kaushik Khona, presented a thorough presentation to the DGCA on the airline’s resurrection plan on Wednesday.

The audit will also focus on continuous compliance with the standards for holding an Air Operator Certificate and physical verification of the arrangements made for the resumption of flying operations, according to the DGCA.

The DGCA issued a show cause notice to the airline in May before ordering it to halt ticket sales. It later served a second notice on the cash-strapped airline for the abrupt cancellation of flights and failed to maintain operations.

According to an official, Go First plans to begin operations with 26 aircraft, including chartered services, and more than 150 daily flights.

Before the grounding, the airline served 29 domestic destinations, which has since been reduced to 23.

“Jaipur, Lucknow, Kannur, Patna, Varanasi, and Ranchi are not included in their revival plan.” The finances would be enough to run the airline for at least a year and a half.”
