“The young people of India having a place with different networks, clans, standings, or religions who solemnize their relationships should not be compelled to battle with issues emerging because of contentions in different individual laws,” Justice Singh said, adding, “particularly comparable to marriage and separation.”
The Delhi high court judge said that a Uniform Civil Code in India, as imagined under Article 44 of the Constitution, has been “emphasized now and again” by the Supreme Court. A particularly pleasant code would be “normal to all”, the court said and would empower uniform standards to be applied in the issue of marriage, separation, and progression. This will lessen clashes and logical inconsistencies inside the general public that emerge from different individual laws, the court noticed.
