According to Newsweek, Dima Nova, the lead singer of a pop trio whose song was adopted as the Russian anti-war protesters’ anthem, drowned. 

He had 34 years on him. Dima Nova, the band Cream Soda’s founder, also slammed Vladimir Putin’s claimed $1.3 billion mansion in the song.

The song “Aqua Disco” was frequently sung at demonstrations against Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine, and it became so well-liked that the protests were dubbed “Aqua Disco Parties.”

As per the Russian news website People Talk, Dima Nova was crossing the Volga river in the Yaroslavl area when he lost his footing and also went through the ice. The report said he was with his brother Roma and 2 friends at the time of the incident.

The pop band Cream Soda sent a message on Instagram announcing Dima Nova’s demise.

“Last night, a disaster happened. While out with pals along the Volga, our Dima Nova slipped on some ice and lost his footing. The Ministry of Emergency Situations still wants his companion Gosha Kiselev and brother Roma. 

Our other companion, Aristarchus, was caught but could not be saved after falling through the ice. The group added, “We will update you as soon as we get some information from the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

A formal identification occurred today at 9:00; the organization wrote beside images of Dima Nova and his pal Kiselev. Dima and Goshi had passed away.
