Droupadi Murmu, the NDA’s choice for President, received more than 60% of the total vote value yesterday.
After three rounds of counting, the opposition’s Yashwant Sinha conceded defeat. On July 25, the President-elect will take the oath of office.
After three rounds of counting, Droupadi Murmu received 64.03 percent of the total vote value. Yashwant Sinha received 35.97% of the vote. Ms Murmu received 2,824 votes, totaling $6,76,803. Mr. Sinha received 1,877 votes totaling $3,80,177. A victory value of 5,43,000 is require.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, senior members of his Cabinet, and BJP chief JP Nadda paid Ms. Murmu a congratulatory visit. Celebrations erupted all over the country, complete with sweets also vibrant tribal dances. Ms. Murmu, 64, will be India’s youngest and first president born after independence.

Messages of congratulations were sent to Ms. Murmu from governors, cabinet ministers, chief ministers, and leaders of various political parties.
Likewise, opposition leaders congratulated her, including Congress President Sonia Gandhi, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, and NCP President Sharad Pawar.
The NDA’s selection of Ms. Murmu, a tribal woman from Odisha and former Jharkhand Governor, split the opposition and drew in non-aligned parties such as Naveen Patnaik’s Biju Janata Dal and Jaganmohan Reddy’s YSR Congress. The move is also seen like a strong political message to the tribal community, which has recently become disillusione with the BJP.
