Ex-Bihar CM Rabri Devi to be investigated by CBI

The alleged case dates around 2005-06, when RJD chief and husband of Rabri Devi, Lalu Prasad, was the railway minister in the Congress-led UPA regime.

Officers of the central bureau of investigation (CBI) reached the home of ex-Bihar chief minister Rabri Devi on Monday concerning land for a job case.

CBI reaches the residence of Rabri Devi:

An officer familiar with the case said the CBI officials were questioning the ex-chief minister at her home in the state capital with the alleged land for a job case.

People aware of the case said the CBI officers arrived in four cars at her residence around 9:30 am. Meanwhile, heavy protection has been deployed outside the ex-chief minister’s residence in Patna.

Notably, the probe comes a week after a Delhi court on February 27 gave a warrant to her husband, RJD chief, ex-railway minister Lalu Prasad Yadav, daughter Misa Bharti, and 14 others in the matter to appear before the court on March 15.

Superior judge Geetanjali Goel led the accused to come before the court on March 15. RJD chief Bhai Birendra voiced his disappointment over the inquiry.

“They are scared of losing and using agency. They will get nothing,” stated Birendra.

In July 2022, the CBI detained Bhola Yadav, who was the official on special duty (OSD) to Lalu Prasad while he was the railway minister.
