Extraction 2: Joe Russo says the 2nd part of Extraction will be ‘Emotionally and physically’ more significant than the first film.

Extraction broke viewership records for the streaming service upon its release in April, starring Chris Hemsworth. Providing an update about the film’s follow up, co-producer and writer of Netflix’s Extraction Joe Russo says the film will be ‘Emotionally And Physically’ more significant.

“I started writing the sequel (prequel?) three weeks ago. It is a great character to write for, with a fantastic performance from Hemsworth. So it makes my job easier. I think the mission is up to the scale on this one, both emotionally and physically.” Told cinemablend, who co-produced the action film with his brother Anthony.

“I think there were preliminary conversations before release. Everyone was pleased with the movie and very excited about it. There was good vibe going into the release. And certainly, the release proved it. But yeah, it had been a talks that’s been going on for a little over a month,” he said.

Russo spoke to collider about the discussions about the follow-up went. On a mission to rescue the kidnapped son of an Indian crime lord, the first film featured Chris Hemsworth mercenary, Tyler Rake. Netflix quickly greenlit a sequel, following the success of the film.

“There’s been a lot of talks and questions about series and prequels and all sort of things, and all I can say is who knows.” “But this amount of support, it’s something I will be pretty stoked to jump back into.” Hemsworth in a recorded message for fans after the release of the first part.
