Many people received the following message: “Your Facebook account was terminate because it violated our Community Standards. Unfortunately, this decision cannot be overturn.”

Meta, the parent company Facebook, stated that it was looking into it. “We’re aware that some users are experiencing issues accessing their Facebook accounts. And we are working to resolve them as soon as available,” said Meta’s Andy Stone in a tweet. However, he didn’t say how many people were affect or the problem.

Jen Roberts, a public relations consultant Facebook, was one of those who found herself locked out of her account. “I haven’t posted anything or commented in quite some time. So it’s doubtful that I’ve done anything that could be construe as offensive,” she told the news.

Even though she was not a frequent user, having her account lock was upsetting. All of the photos from my university days and family gatherings can be found on Facebook.

“I will no longer have access to over 15 years of content, genuinely heartbreaking.

“It’s also quite stressful not knowing what the problem is and having no way of resolving it. It’s mind-boggling to be given no warning and then deny access to our data.”
