Operation Carried Out Under State Directive
The action was part of a broader initiative launched under the Gujarat government’s directive to crack down on illegal infiltration. The operation was conducted under the supervision of Rajkot Range IG Ashokkumar Yadav and District Police Chief Himkar Singh, with coordinated efforts from the Rural Special Operations Group (SOG) and Local Crime Branch (LCB).
Residents Lacked Indian Identification
According to officials, the Rajkot Rural LCB received credible intelligence about the presence of foreign nationals living illegally in the district. Acting on this information, law enforcement teams conducted a targeted search in Lodhika, leading to the identification and detention of the suspected individuals.
During preliminary questioning, the detainees were unable to produce any valid Indian identification, such as a voter ID or Aadhaar card. Initial findings suggest they entered India legally in 1999 with valid visas but never returned to Pakistan, remaining in Rajkot without proper documentation ever since.
