Getting used to the time difference is another challenge. But my training with coach Piero Genga helped me a lot,” Sehon said in an interview with The Indian Express.

At the urging of her father Amrinder Singh, she started shooting in 2015 and won a silver medal in the women’s skate event at the Senji National Shooting Championships in Pune. He put in similar performances for the national team in Delhi in 2017 and in Jaipur in 2018. In 2018, Sehon became the first Indian to win a bronze medal at the ISSF World Junior Championships in Sydney, Australia.

Sekhon also teamed up with Angad Vir Bajwa to win gold in the mixed team skate competition in Delhi.
“The ISSF World Cup bronze medal was a boost to my career in shooting older people. And gave me a lot from confidence to believe in myself while competing in the senior division. The time after the World Cup was difficult because I didn’t go to training. Meant that I could only get advice over the phone from my coach Piero Genga. “I trained for the World Cup in Kazakhstan before it was cancelled,” Sehon said.
The 20-year-old, whose family recently moved from Ziracpur to Kanzal, sees next year as crucial for his goal of participating in the 2024 Olympics in Paris: “I’ve been training physically and mentally. The Indian skate team currently does not have a coach and we hope to get one soon. “Study abroad will be very important ahead of next year’s Asian Games and winning a medal. There will build my confidence in my goal of qualifying for the 2024 Olympics and winning a medal,” said Sehon.
