Godrej Agrovet to fully acquire Creamline Dairy for ₹930cr

Godrej Agrovet’s board backed the purchase of the remaining 48.06% stake in Creamline Dairy Products, which is set to become a wholly-owned subsidiary.

Acquisition Details

On March 11, 2025, Godrej Agrovet announced its decision to acquire the remaining 48.06% stake in Creamline Dairy Products Limited (CDPL). This move will make CDPL a wholly owned subsidiary of the company.

As per the exchange filing, the Hyderabad-based dairy firm will be acquired for a total cash consideration of ₹930 crore. CDPL is known for its milk procurement, processing, and dairy product manufacturing under the “Godrej Jersey” brand.

The transaction is expected to be completed by September 30, 2025, after which Godrej Agrovet will own all 1.13 crore shares of the company.

CDPL’s Business and Financials

Founded in 1986, Creamline Dairy Products recorded a turnover of over ₹1,540 crore in the 2023-2024 financial year. The acquisition is expected to strengthen Godrej Agrovet’s presence in the dairy sector.

Leadership Appointment at Godrej Agrovet

Alongside the acquisition, Godrej Agrovet has appointed YV Sathish as the Head of Manufacturing and Supply Chain Excellence, effective March 24, 2025.

Sathish currently leads operations at Unilever’s Sumerpur factory, the largest Unilever site in South Asia. He has previously worked at GSK and Prudential Sugar Corporation, gaining extensive experience in engineering, utilities, and maintenance.

This appointment follows the early superannuation of Prafulla Bhat, which was approved by the board on March 10, 2025.

Market Impact

Following the announcement, Godrej Agrovet’s stock closed at ₹735.65 on March 11, marking marginal losses. Since the exchange filing was released post-market hours, the stock is expected to be closely monitored when markets reopen on March 12.

This acquisition is a major step for Godrej Agrovet’s expansion in the dairy sector, further solidifying its position in India’s growing dairy industry.
