IBM, the world’s leading IT company, will set up a state-of-the-art software lab in Ahmedabad. The lab will be launched in Ahmedabad as a state-of-the-art product engineering, design and development centre with state-of-the-art facilities.
The announcement was made during a meeting between Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and IBM-India Managing Director Sandeep Patel, and IBM Software Lab Vice-President Gaurav Sharma in Gandhinagar.
Welcoming IBM to Gujarat, Chief Minister Vijay Rupani welcomed the announcement of IBM’s Center. Considering Prime Minister Narendra Modi was the Chief Minister of Gujarat, a policy-driven state has created a healthy and friendly environment for investment in the technology sector, including FDI and IT sector.
Not only that, the start of sectoral universities in Gujarat and the scope of iCreat, startup innovation has also increased, and the youth are getting advanced knowledge-research opportunities.
Vijay Rupani also told IBM’s MD that as a result of all this, there is a skilled human resources and abundant talent pool available in Gujarat, which will benefit IBM.
In addition, he said that in the lead that Gujarat has taken in realizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a digital India, IBM’s new functioning centre will be instrumental in transforming the entire ecosystem of the IT ITES sector in the state.

Sandeep Patel, Managing Director, IBM-India, lauded the direction Gujarat has taken to become an IT hub under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Vijay Rupani.

In ameeting with Chief Minister Vijaybhai Rupani at the world-class software lab Ahmedabad, IBM-India MD Sandeep Patel said that IBM Software Lab provides next-generation software portfolio and cloud services as a world-class innovation centre.
Such software labs are now operating in Bengaluru, Pune, Hyderabad and Chennai. IBM is also planning to set it up in Ahmedabad. The MD of IBM-India was named to bring the world’s best product engineering and software manufacturing practices to Gujarat.
He added that Gujarat would reap the double benefits of world-class trained human resources and skill development and increased employment opportunities.
