Gujarat Monsoon: State Receives 71.95% of Average Rainfall

Gujarat has recorded a significant amount of Rainfall this monsoon season, with 635.29 mm so far, representing 71.95% of the state’s average annual Rainfall. According to data from the State Emergency Operation Centre, all 251 talukas have experienced Rainfall.

Gujarat Monsoon Regional Rainfall Distribution:

  • Kutch Region: Leads with 87.40% of its average monsoon rainfall, 423.80 mm.
  • South Gujarat: Close behind, recording 86.22% of its seasonal average with 1,286.37 mm.
  • Saurashtra: Received 79.44% of its average with 586.16 mm.
  • East Central Gujarat: Recorded 56.09% of its seasonal average, totaling 454.81 mm.
  • North Gujarat: Received 53.85% of its average Rainfall, with 393.06 mm.

Highest Rainfall Districts:

  • Valsad in South Gujarat has seen the highest Rainfall, recording 1,987.83 mm so far.
  • Navsari follows with 1,894.00 mm.
  • Dang has received 1,499.00 mm.

Gujarat Monsoon Talukas with Over 1,000 mm of Rainfall:

Several talukas across the state have received over 1,000 mm of Rainfall this season. These include:

  • Dwarka, Kalyanpur, Khambhalia, Porbandar, Ranavav, Junagadh, Junagadh City, Keshod, Maliya Hatina, Manavadar, Mendarda, Vanthali, Visavadar, Talala, Patan-Veraval (Saurashtra region)
  • Netrang, Songadh, Valod, Vyara, Dolvan, Bardoli, Kamrej, Mahuva, Olpad, Palsana, Surat City, Umarpada (South Gujarat region)
  • Chikhli, Gandevi, Jalalpore, Khergam, Navsari, Vansada, Dharampur, Kaprada, Pardi, Umbergaon, Valsad, Vapi (South Gujarat region)
  • Dang-Ahwa, Subir, Vaghai (Dang district)

The widespread and substantial Rainfall has contributed positively to the region, supporting agriculture and water resources, but it also requires continued monitoring for potential flood risks.
