Instead of removing the stone, doctors at the hospital removed the patient’s left kidney, resulting in his death.

The deceased was identify as Devendrabhai Raval. The Gujarat State Consumer Dispute Settlement Commission has resolved the matter and ordered the hospital to pay 11.23 lakh rupees as compensation to the deceased’s family, citing medical negligence. The verdict came after the victim’s family filed an appeal, India Today reported.
The victim, a resident of Vanghroli Village, Kheda District, complained of severe back pain and difficulty urinating. The patient consulted dr—Shivubhai Patel from KMG Hospital, who diagnosed a 15mm kidney stone in his left kidney.
He was operate on later in September 2011.
However, doctors told Raval’s family to remove the patient’s kidney instead of the stone after the operation, citing the patient’s health. Raval had additional problems after kidney removal and was admitt to the kidney hospital in Nadiad in the Kheda region. After further complications, Rawal was sent to the Institute of Kidney Diseases and Research Center (IKDRC) in Ahmedabad. Unfortunately, he died of kidney complications on January 8, 2012, while undergoing treatment.
