Statewide Chill

Residents across Gujarat continued to experience cool winter conditions, with minimum temperatures dipping below normal at most locations, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) bulletin issued Friday morning. Clear skies and dry weather have intensified the chill during night and early morning hours.

Coldest Spots

  • Naliya (Kutch): 4.8°C, 4.8 degrees below normal, coldest in the state.
  • Rajkot: 9.4°C, 3.1 degrees below normal.
  • Amreli: 8.6°C, 2.7 degrees below normal.

Central Gujarat

  • Deesa: 10.1°C, close to normal.
  • Gandhinagar: 10.8°C, slightly above normal.
  • Ahmedabad: 11.7°C, 0.6 degrees below normal, indicating mild cold conditions.

Coastal & Saurashtra

  • Bhavnagar: 13.8°C, near normal.
  • Porbandar: 12.8°C, 1.4 degrees below normal.
  • Dwarka: 14.2°C, 2 degrees below normal.
  • Kandla: 11.9°C, 2 degrees below normal.

South Gujarat & Union Territories

  • Surat: 15.0°C, marginally below normal.
  • Daman: 16.8°C, warmer side.
  • Diu: 15.8°C, warmer side.

Weather Outlook

No rainfall was reported in the past 24 hours. Officials noted that dry conditions and clear skies are contributing to the persistence of cold nights and mornings across the state. While coastal and southern districts remain relatively warmer, interior regions such as Kutch and Saurashtra continue to record sharp dips in temperature.
