The Jaipur-Mumbai train firing incident: A shocking incident occurred this morning; an RPF officer shot dead his escort duty and three other passengers. 

Chetan Kumar Choudhary, a Railway Protection Force (RPF) constable, shot and killed his escort duty in-charge assistant sub-inspector Tika Ram Meena and three other passengers on the Jaipur-Mumbai Central Express train soon after 5 am on Monday at Palghar railway station in Maharashtra.

Chetan Kumar, the accused, will be brought before the court at Borivali. According to police, a murder case has been filed against him under section 302 of the Indian Penal Code.

The incident occurred within the B5 coach of the running train (12956). “It was reported at 5.23 am,” the RPF said.

According to reports, the constable used his automatic rifle to fire.

According to PTI, after killing his superior, the cop rushed to another bogie and shot three passengers dead. Police apprehended the constable near Mira Road with the assistance of Government Railway Police and RPF employees.

Chief PRO Sumit Thakur on the issue:

“In a tragic incident on the Jaipur-Mumbai Superfast Express, a police constable shot at his colleague escort in charge ASI Tika Ram.” The explanation for this has yet to be determined. 

Tragically, ASI Tika Ram and three other people were killed. RPF/Bhayandar apprehended the constable. “Further investigation is underway,” stated Sumit Thakur, Western Railway’s Chief PRO.

After shooting his comrade, the constable initially held passengers at gunpoint. “The constable alighted near Dahisar and attempted to flee after the alarm chain was pulled, but the RPF apprehended him along with the weapon,” the Western Railway said.

“Around 6 am, we learned that an RPF policeman on escorting duty had opened fire…Four persons were killed by gunfire…Our railway officer arrived on the scene. The relatives have been contacted. “Ex gratia will be given,” DRM Neeraj Kumar told reporters.

According to an official, the culprit is in the hands of the Mira Road railway police.

According to him, the bodies were removed from the train at the Borivali railway station.
