Hyundai has formally launched the Ioniq 5 all-electric crossover in India after displaying it to the public a few days ago and beginning to accept reservations.

Here are some features of the new Hyundai Ioniq 5

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 differs significantly from any other current model from the Korean automaker in India and is based on the 45-EV concept unveiled a few years ago.

All-LED headlamps and LED tail lamps with a pixelated theme are among the Ioniq 5’s futuristic retro design features. The Ioniq 5 has angular lines, steeply raked windscreens, and flat surfaces that give it an SUV-like appearance.

20-inch aero-optimized alloy wheels and a turbine-like design are among the Ioniq 5’s additional design highlights.

The new Hyundai Ioniq 5 is now available in India in three colour choices: Optic White, Gravity Gold Matte, and Midnight Black Pearl.

The Hyundai Ioniq 5’s interior strongly emphasizes sustainability and minimalism, and it uses eco-friendly faux leather and textiles made from recyclable plastic as sustainable materials in its interior design.

The Ioniq 5 by Hyundai features bio-paint for the switches, steering wheel, and door pads. It also has standard new-generation EV features like a flat floor, a movable centre console, and flexible seats.

For the Indian market, only one variant.

The new Hyundai Ioniq 5 has been introduced with a single powertrain option for the Indian automobile market, which includes a single motor setup giving it a rear-wheel drive configuration.

A 72.6 kWh lithium-ion battery is connected to the electric motor, which generates 217 bhp of power as well as 350 Nm of torque.

This battery gives the Ioniq 5 an asserted range of 631 km on a single charge and can support 800V fast charging, with which it can charge from 10-80% in 18 minutes.

With these prices, the new Hyundai Ioniq 5, which shares its e-GMP platform with the Kia EV6, has emerged as a more reasonably priced option.

Hyundai decided to go the less expensive CKD route for the Ioniq 5, in contrast to the Kia EV6, which is only offered in India through the CBU route.

The Ioniq 5 will face off against the Volvo XC40 Recharge and the EV6.
