Here’s Rajasthan’s new district, read why it is done

The Rajasthan government has set up 17 new districts and changed Jaipur and Jodhpur’s two major urban districts in preparation for the state’s upcoming assembly elections.

On Friday, the cabinet, chaired by chief minister Ashok Gehlot, announced three new divisions in the state. This will increase the number of districts in Rajasthan from 33 to 50 and the number of divisions from seven to ten.

Gehlot made the statement for the first time on March 17.

Here’s the Rajasthan’s New District:

According to senior authorities familiar with the situation, the previously merged districts of Jaipur and Jodhpur would now be separated into Jaipur Rural and Jodhpur Rural.

Apoongarh, Balotra, Beawar, Deeg, Didwana- Kuchaman, Dudu, Gangapur City, Jaipur (Rural), Kekri, Jodhpur (Rural), Kotputli- Behror, Khairthal- Tijara, Neem ka Thana, Phalodi, Slumber, Sanchore, and Shahpura are among the new districts proclaimed by the state.

According to officials, the three new districts are Banswara, Pali, and Sikar. Dudu will now be the smallest district in Rajasthan, while Jaisalmer will remain the largest in land.

After the cabinet meeting, CM Gehlot told the media that ministers in charge of the new districts would hold prayers and a ceremonial launch on August 7.

CM Ashok Gehlot explains the reason:

“The formation of new districts will improve governance and make the lives of local people easier, as many of them had to travel long distances to the district headquarter for various tasks.” “It is another step by the state government towards providing good governance,” Gehlot remarked.

However, Gehlot added that the tenure of the high-level group that suggested the new districts has been extended for six months to allow for any further ideas.

“The CM has made history,” claimed state revenue minister Ramlal Jat. Many, including members of the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party), have been asking.”
