North Indian areas such as south Haryana, Delhi, south Uttar Pradesh, north Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Bihar, and West Bengal were still suffering from scorching conditions on Monday, leading the India Meteorological Department (IMD) to issue a heatwave warning. Except for Jharkhand, the weather service stated no such notice was issued for Tuesday.
As blistering heat waves raced over the city, Najafgarh, in the national capital, registered the greatest maximum temperature of 46.2°C Monday evening.
Rain is predicted to bring some relief to the situation beginning Wednesday due to a western disturbance, according to the IMD. It further stated that rain could fall in Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh during the following two days.
According to the IMD, a western disturbance active over the western Himalayan region will bring rain, hail, and strong winds to the northwestern plains beginning Wednesday.
Thunderstorms and severe gusty winds are forecast over Uttarakhand on May 24-25, as well as throughout Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Delhi on Wednesday.
It further stated that areas bordering Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, and Himachal Pradesh will have severe rain tomorrow and the next day, while Punjab will see heavy rain on Tuesday.
Furthermore, hail storms are expected in Himachal tomorrow, with Haryana following suit on Tuesday.
Rajasthan is expected to see dust storms/thunderstorms during the next three days, with hailstorms possible in the state’s north after tomorrow.
Isolated replacements of rain are expected in West Bengal and Sikkim over the next 5 days. Furthermore, the 2 states, along with Bihar, may face hail storms tomorrow and the next day, according to the weather service.
These states might expect isolated rains, gusty winds, and lightning during the next three days. On May 24-25, hailstorms are extremely likely in western portions of MP.
Over the next three days, rain will fall heavily across Assam and Meghalaya.
Meanwhile, severe rain is expected in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura from May 24-26.
Over the next five days, several portions of the region can expect moderate rain.
