IMD forecast for week, Many states might receive unseasonal rainfall

On Sunday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) announced a list of states that will have Rainfall over the next week. No heatwave conditions are forecast throughout most of India over the next five days. 

“Moderate rainfall with thunderstorms, lighting, and gusty winds are very likely over some parts of these states,” the weather service warned, naming West Bengal, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, and Assam, among others. 

A western disturbance arriving Sunday is forecast to keep temperatures below 40°C, providing a reprieve from the sweltering heat.

Here are some states which might receive Rainfall:

East India:

The IMD report predicted hail storms in northern West Bengal and Sikkim on Sunday and Tuesday, respectively. Also, hail storms are forecast in Odisha today and tomorrow, with heavy rain expected in isolated areas today. On the other hand, Bihar is predicted to have hailstorms on Monday.

Northeast India:

The IMD showed light to moderate Rainfall, thunderstorms, lighting, and gusty winds over the northeast region during the next two days, gradually decreasing. Heavy rain is expected to fall in isolated areas of Assam and Meghalaya today.

Central India:

The weather service predicts isolated and scattered rains, thunderstorms, and lightning in the eastern areas of Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, and Chhattisgarh over the next five days. Also, hailstorms are predicted in Chhattisgarh through Monday, and hail showers are possible in Maharashtra’s Vidarbha region over the next two days.

West India:

Central Maharashtra and Marathwada are expected to receive light, isolated rain over the next 5 days, while Gujarat will receive the same on Wednesday and Thursday.

India’s Northwest Region:

Except in West Rajasthan, the weatherman predicts moderate, isolated showers with thunderstorms over the next 24 hours.
