India vs Australia ODIs 2020: Richardson out, Tye joins the Australian ODI squad.

Fast bowler Andrew Tye was drafted into Australia’s squad to substitute Kane Richardson starting next week for the one-day series as well as Twenty20 internationals against India. On Wednesday, Cricket Australia stated Richardson withdrew from the squad to be in Adelaide with his wife and their new-born son.

A difficult decision for Kane:

“For Kane, it was a hard decision to make, but one that has the full support of the selectors as well as the entire playing squad,” said national selector Trevor Hohns. “We’ll miss what he contributes to the team, but we’ll understand his decision fully.”

Australia’s tour to England:

On Australia’s recent tour to England, which ended with an ODI series victory over the World Cup champions, the 33-year-old Tye participated in 7 ODIs as well as 26 T20 internationals and has been a backup seamer.

 

 

As the Health official stated: 

In the meantime, a recent outbreak of COVID-19 infections in the state of South Australia culminated in players flying into the state of New South Wales from several domestic teams to prevent any imminent new border closures.

The latest infections in South Australia are up to 20 from a cluster in northern Adelaide, as well as 14 others who are deemed at high risk of having the virus have also been confirmed by health officials.

The India Tour to Australia:
