Driving Digital Transformation in Aviation

Infosys, the Bengaluru-based IT giant, announced on February 18 a strategic collaboration with Lufthansa Group and Lufthansa Systems GmbH (LSY) to establish a Global Capability Centre (GCC).

This initiative aims to accelerate digital transformation, enhance software and product development, and drive innovation in the aviation industry.

AI-Powered Solutions for the Aviation Sector

The new centre will leverage Infosys Topaz, an AI-first offering that integrates generative AI technologies. Through these advancements, Infosys will develop future-ready aviation IT products and data-driven solutions to improve aviation safety, efficiency, customer experience, and demand management for Lufthansa Group and LSY’s external airline market customers.

Infosys has a long history of collaboration with aerospace OEMs, global airlines, and travel technology providers. The company recently introduced the Cobalt Airline Cloud, a first-of-its-kind industry solution aimed at boosting operational efficiency and supporting sustainability efforts in aviation.

He emphasized that Infosys’ expertise in digitalization, AI, and data-driven solutions will play a crucial role in optimizing operations and enhancing the passenger experience.

Similarly, Ashiss Kumar Dash, EVP & Global Head – Services, Utilities, Resources, Energy, and Sustainability at Infosys, stated that this long-term collaboration reinforces Lufthansa’s confidence in Infosys’ cutting-edge technologies and domain expertise.

A Major Step Towards Sustainable Growth

This partnership aligns with Lufthansa’s vision of leveraging technology to drive efficiency and sustainability in aviation. The GCC will serve as a hub for innovation, bringing AI-powered solutions to the forefront of the airline industry’s evolution.
