Javed Akhtar is angry on media for ignoring farmers protest and focusing only on Bollywood.

Javed Akhtar took a dig at news channels prioritising the suspected drug ties of Bollywood over the protests of the farmers in their reporting.

Sarcastically, the lyricist pointed out that if Karan Johar had invited farmers to his party,’ life would have been simpler’ for the networks because they would not have to choose between the protests of Bollywood and the farmers.

If Karan johar had also invited some farmers for his party life, our TV channels would have been simpler. They wouldn’t have to make a choice between the protest of farmers and Karan’s party!.

It seems that Karan’s is the second most successful party on our channels,’ he wrote. More than 200 farmers’ groups across the country blocked roads on Friday.

Organised rallies in protest against three contentious farm bills passed during Parliament’s monsoon session. Farmers are worried that new legislation could potentially dismantle the existing Minimum Support Price (MSP) scheme, leaving them vulnerable to agribusiness exploitation.

Meanwhile, in the midst of an inquiry into Bollywood’s suspected drug connexions, a video was taken at one of Karan’s house parties last year was under fresh scrutiny.

Manjinder Singh Sirsa, a politician, reiterated his arguments that it was a drug group and filed a complaint earlier this month with the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB).

A number of prominent personalities from Bollywood, including Deepika Padukone, Ranbir Kapoor, Malaika Arora, Shahid Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Vicky Kaushal, Arjun Kapoor, and filmmakers Zoya Akhtar and Ayan Mukerji, were featured in the video.

None of them was, however, seen consuming narcotics in the clip. When exploring the drug angle in the death of Sushant Singh Rajput, the NCB found signs of a possible drug ring in Bollywood.

Earlier this month, his spouse, Rhea Chakraborty, was arrested on charges of drug procurement. She was held in judicial detention until 6 October.

In the investigation, the names of a variety of Bollywood celebrities have come up. Summons to Deepika Padukone, Rakul Preet Singh, Sara Ali Khan and Shraddha Kapoor were provided by the NCB.
Reports say that 39 more celebrities from Bollywood are under the scanner.
