Jawan breaks all the Indian box office records; lead the charts

A day after Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 broke Pathaan’s box office record in India, earning 524.75 crore to become the highest-grossing Bollywood picture, another Shah Rukh Khan blockbuster broke it. 

Jawan, released over a month after Gadar 2, is now India’s highest-grossing Hindi film. Taran Adarsh, a film trade expert, took to X (formerly Twitter) to announce the latest Jawan box office collection.

He tweeted, “Jawan crosses lifetime biz (business) of Gadar 2 and Pathaan’s Hindi version in India… Now the most-grossing Hindi film in India. 

SRK (Shah Rukh Khan) appears in two of the top three most-grossing Hindi films: Pathaan (No. 3) and Jawan (No. 1).

[Week 3] Friday: 7.10 crore, Saturday: 11.50 crore, Sunday: 13.9 crore, Monday: 4.9 crore, Tuesday: 4.4 crore, Wednesday: 4.45 crore, and Thursday: 5.81 crore. Net total: 525.5 crore.”

In another tweet, he also posted Jawan’s domestic box office collection in all languages. “Jawan is an all-time blockbuster,” he wrote. 

Jawan business in a nutshell… Versions in Tamil and Telugu… First week: 43.35 crore [8 days]. 11.60 crore in the second week. 3.87 crore in week three. “Total: 58.82 crore Indian business…”

Jawan is co-written and directed by Atlee and produced by Gauri Khan and Gaurav Verma under Red Chillies Entertainment. 

The film, released on September 7, stars Shah Rukh Khan in a dual role as a father and son who work together to expose corruption.

In lead roles, he is joined by Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi. Deepika Padukone also appears in Jawan, which stars Priyamani and Sanya Malhotra. Anirudh Ravichander composed the film’s soundtrack and background music.

With Pathaan and Jawan, Shah Rukh Khan has become the only actor in Hindi film history to deliver two all-time top-grossers in the same year. 

Shah Rukh is currently preparing for the release of Dunki, his third film of the year. The film will be released around Christmas, competing with Prabhas’ Salaar Part 1 – Ceasefire.
