Jeff Reitz from California sets a world record for visiting Disneyland for 2995 days

Jeff Reitz began visiting the theme park in Anaheim in 2012, when he was jobless, as a reason to leave his home and exercise.

There are Disney grownups – obsessed with the animation giant’s outcomes despite being adults– and then there’s Jeff Reitz.

Jeff Reitz and his passion for Disneyland:

Reitz’s passion for Disney drove him to visit the company’s world-renowned theme park in Anaheim, California, every day for eight years, three months and 13 days.

As a result, the 50-year-old from Huntington Beach has made himself an entry in the Guinness book of world records for having created the most consecutive visits to Disneyland ever; officials declared last week.

Reitz “was surprised” when Guinness called him and told him of the record he’d make, he told the Los Angeles Times in an interview posted Saturday. “It was just fantastic how all this happened.”

The California man on why he visited Disneyland every day:

As Reitz told the Times, while jobless in 2012, he started visiting Disneyland every day with an annual pass that had been present so he could go from his house, exercise and break up the monotony of job hunting.

The visits raised his spirits; he had been going straight for two months before he knew it. On his 60th day, Disneyland hosted a 24-hour carnival emphasising 2012 as a leap year, and he met a journalist who was covering the event, according to the Guinness website.
